So, the NFL Owners have locked out the players...the players have decertified their union and have filed suit against the owners. Now we get to stand by and watch a bunch of crybaby millionaires and billionaires posture for the cameras. LUCKY US!!!!
We, as fans of football, are the ones really suffering here. I will grant you that the ones waiting to be drafted this season are getting the jerk around too. What we are seeing is dramatic theater at an extraordinary level. As we watch this play unfold, the actors (NFL owners & players) are doing their best to cast their plight in the manner most favorable to them. But we, the audience, should be keenly aware that we are being manipulated by the actors. With a discerning eye we must catch the subtle sub-plot.
The sub-plot is that greedy rich people do not care about you or me, the fans. You know the ones that line up weekly to fill THEIR stadiums, the ones that crowd on our couches to boost THEIR television earnings, the ones that foot tremendous taxation to pay for THEIR grandiose stadiums and the ones that buy hundreds of millions in sports memorabilia annually. Literally we the ones that pay THEIR salaries.
So, now that we are aware of the sub-plot, what do we do? The way that you respond to this fat-cat temper tantrum is up to you. Do you want to be sheeple or, do you want to send a decisive message to these bloated, inconsiderate megalomaniacs? These people attempt to lord over us as if they were gods or demi-gods and worthy of our worship. They are uncaring and see us as insignificant. In a politically correct manner of speaking...that's BOVINE FECAL MATTER!
When they come back from the strike, we should not patronize them at all. Do not attend a professional game, do now watch a game at home and do not buy one piece of memorabilia. Instead, we can watch more college football games. It’s a purer sport anyway. There are plenty of games to record on our DVR’s and watch in their stead. After all, the NFL is starting to stand for the National Felon League anyway. They would do better turning the franchises over the Department of Corrections (DOC).
Since every state has a DOC, there would not be any danger of having to lose a franchise. Make it to the playoffs...gain trustee status. Win your division...get extra time in the yard...win the conference championship...get conjugal visits, win the Superbowl...your sentence will be pardoned. The players could receive inmate wages, but would be guaranteed three hot meals a day, free boarding, oh and let’s not forget the free medical. I mean after all, they expressed concern about losing their medical coverage now that they're locked out. I mean we all know that none of them can afford to buy private insurance or visit a doc-in-the-box. Right?
Remember, the most important thing is that as long as I am not bitter about the whole situation…it’s okay for me to rant! BWHAHAHAHAHA.
